We're recruiting for a Data Quality Officer to join our client's Business transformation team. Working closely with the company's Data Steward, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Participating in Data Cleansing projects, intended to ensure that any data quality issues identified within company's data are tackled in a systematic manner.
- Participating in data cleansing work requiring manual intervention on the data.
- Maintaining the Data Catalogue, ensuring it is constantly up to date by following related processes.
- Assisting the Data Steward in his duties, including in efforts aimed at increasing the awareness of company's employees on data governance best practices.
- Assisting the Data Steward in ensuring that all work carried out in relation to Data Governance and Management undergoes proper change control as per the company's Quality Management System and that all process improvement activities led by the OPEX team give due consideration to data management and data quality matters.
- Auditing data on a regular basis to ensure suitable data quality and integrity.
- Assisting with ongoing data architecture and governance processes.
- Carrying out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time.
Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, any of the Engineering disciplines or a related field from an accredited college/university.
- Have 2 years of experience in a similar/related position.
- Have hands-on experience in using SQL Server data tools and sound knowledge of SQL.
- Experienced in maintaining and administering database environments and tuning their performance.
- Good knowledge of XML and XSD technologies will be considered an asset.
- Experienced in building power BI reports will be considered an asset.
- Comfortable in communicating with multiple internal stakeholders.
- Have a passion to learn and to try new features that can help our organization.
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with an ability to extract, translate and communicate meaningful information at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in participating in data/IT projects spanning functional, operational, and technical domains to optimize business results.
- Some knowledge of data lineage, taxonomies, catalog, and metadata management.
- Some knowledge of master data management, data governance, and/or data quality – experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure) is preferred.
