An established company working in the local and international market is recruiting a Senior Systems & Networks Administrator to join their growing team. Being responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and operation of the internal corporate infrastructure, the ideal candidate will be tasked with:
- Ensuring network and related equipment are functional and fully operational for system users.
- Managing cloud/private cloud services integration and management.
- Providing technical support for service restoration in case of disruptions
- Planning, deploying, configuring, and maintaining desktops, peripherals, operating systems, and standard/custom desktop applications.
- Maintaining existing equipment and deploying new equipment as required (servers, storage, SAN, firewalls, VoIP, access control system).
- Developing procedures to maintain and protect security and systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature, and user abuse.
- Ensuring stable operation, availability, reliability, and serviceability of the company’s Windows servers, desktops, and network environment.
- Proactively planning, tuning, troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, and monitoring to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Managing, administering, and supporting Windows servers and associated software/hardware.
- Maintaining and improving IT asset register and internal ticketing system.
- Nurturing a culture of data and network security within the organization.
- Collaborating with third-party contractors to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for business objectives and processes.
- Performing server and system backup procedures and other recovery processes according to disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Providing end-user orientation and training for modified and new systems.
- Administering and maintaining end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Experience & Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Servers management including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, IIS, VMWare etc.
- Proficiency in Windows and Mac client operating systems.
- Previous experience in a systems or network administration role is essential.
- Previous experience with virtual cluster environments will be considered an asset
- Understanding or at least some experience with the following: MS Azure, Office 365, GSuite, and Google Cloud.
- General knowledge of 3CX phone systems and Cisco network equipment, routers, and switches.
- Good knowledge of internet technologies and concepts such as DNS, routing protocols, TCP and UDP, and higher-level protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, and FTP is important.
- Ubiquiti or Cisco SMB experience would be considered an asset.
- Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high-pressure support environment, while striving to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Willing to work flexible hours and provide out-of-hours support.
