Our client is recruiting an interim Head of HR, for a 5 month Maternity Cover until October/November 2023. Being responsible for the HR function including office management, recruitment, and other general HR responsibilities, the ideal candidate will be tasked with:
- Overseeing the recruitment process and supporting the hiring teams as required.
- Handling the departmental budget, and expenditures relating to human capital and administration.
- Overseeing payroll for employees based in Malta and the UK.
- Taking the lead in managing the mid-year performance management process as well as the training and development needs.
- Being a strategic business advisor to the management team regarding key organizational and management issues by providing leadership and guidance with respect to talent acquisition, career development, leadership development, and compensation.
- Introducing a continuity program, as well as facilitating talent reviews and succession planning conversations with the management team.
- Providing support to the leadership team on all HR-related matters, including change management, grievances, and legal case preparation when required.
- Being familiar with legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring HR compliance.
- Being a spokesperson for a positive work environment.
Experience & Skills:
- At least 6 years of experience in HR, with 2 years in a leadership role.
- Previous hands-on experience in Talent Management and Learning & Development.
- Experienced in designing and implementing training programs and meeting training needs.
- Experienced in managing the HR budget.
- Comfortable in being hands-on and getting work done.
- Strong knowledge of Maltese/UK employment legislation.
- Experience in working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- A high level of integrity and a conscientious approach to work.
- Attention to detail, able to track everything in an organised manner.
